Accordingly, the 13,000-hectareeconomic zone bordering the Cambodian province of Svay Rieng willcomprise the Binh Hiep International Border Gate and the Long KhotAuxiliary Border Gate, covering seven communes and one provincial town.
By 2020, land used for construction in the zone is intended to reach 1,000 hectares with a population of 58,000 people.
This is expected to increase to 2,000 hectares with a population of over 100,000 people by 2030.
Theeconomic zone is hoped to become one of the most important commercialand industrial hubs in the Mekong Delta region.-VNA
