Local firm to supply steel structures for suspension bridge

It secured a deal withthe Republic of Korea’s joint venture of Hanshin Engineering &Construction and GS Group in Ho Chi Minh City on January 9 to besupported in technology and consultation in producing large-sized steelstructures contracted.

The company willmanufacture structures requiring about 7,000 tonnes of steel in totalfor Vam Cong cable suspension bridge, one of the four biggest and mostmodern in Vietnam.

The 2.97km-long Vam Congbridge, is estimated to cost 271 million USD, contributed by the RoK’sODA and Vietnamese corresponding capital.

Spanning the Hau River, it will connect Dong Thap province with Can Thocity, establishing a link between the western area and the centralMekong Delta, thus lessening traffic load on National Road 1A.-VNA
