HCM City (VNA) – A life-long learning week waslaunched in Ho Chi Minh City on September 30, with multiple activities.
The week, to last from September 30 to October 7, willfeature training courses for officials and workers, vocational training forrural labourers, activities to raise public awareness of law, health care andenvironmental protection, exchanges, contests and seminars on study promotion.
The campaign aims to popularise the significance of buildinga leaning society and offer more chances for life-long learning to people fromall walks of life.
Le Hong Son, Director of the municipal Department ofEducation and Training, called on local residents to engage in life-longlearning and join hands in building a learning society, thus turning HCM Cityinto a civilized, modern and smart urban area that develops sustainably.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do saidover the past years, the life-long learning week has been held in manylocalities nationwide and attracted the participation of departments, agencies,organisations and individuals. -VNA
