Legislature mulls draft law on preventing effects of alcohol, beer

Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th National Assembly discussed the draftLaw on Preventing and Combating Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Beer during theongoing sixth session in Hanoi on November 16.

Withpermanent NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong in chair, 31 deputies discussedregulations on the ban of selling alcohol and beer on the Internet, alcohol andbeer advertising management, measures to reduce their harmful effects,awareness campaigns and responsibilities of organisations and individuals inthe field.

HealthMinister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien explained in details issued raised by lawmakers.

Phong askedagencies concerned to continue acquiring public feedback to refine the bill.

Under thechair of NA Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien in the afternoon, 17 lawmakersoffered opinions about the draft Law on amendments and supplements to severalarticles of the Law on Public Investment, focusing on openness and transparencyin public investment, banned behaviours in public investment, criteria forclassification of key national investment projects, and the duty andresponsibility of the People’s Councils and their permanent members.

Deputy PrimeMinister Vuong Dinh Hue later made clear several issues of concern.

Hienrequired relevant agencies to collect deputies’ opinions about the draft law tosubmit to the seventh session of the 14th legislature.

On November17, NA agencies will work on their own agenda.

On November19 morning, the legislature will look into the draft amended Law on theExecution of Criminal Judgments.

In theafternoon, deputies will adopt the revised Law on Amnesty, the Law on Cultivation,the Law on Animal Husbandry, the Law on Vietnam Coast Guards, the Law onamendments and supplements to some articles of the Law on TertiaryEducation.-VNA
