Party, State, Government and National Assembly leaders have extended their sincere and deep sympathies to leaders and people of Laos, especially the administrations and locals in flood-hit areas, over the losses caused by the recent devastating disaster.

Hanoi (VNA) – Party, State, Government and National Assembly leaders haveextended their sincere and deep sympathies to leaders and people of Laos,especially the administrations and locals in flood-hit areas, over the lossescaused by the recent devastating disaster.

GeneralSecretary of the Party Central Committee and State President Nguyen Phu Trong,Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi KimNgan on September 6 sent letters to their respective counterparts – PresidentBounnhang Vorachith, PM Thongloun Sisoulith, and NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotou,expressing their concern about the flooding situation in the neighbouringcountry.

TheVietnamese leaders expressed their belief that under the leadership anddirection of the Party, State, Government and NA of Laos, Lao people will soonovercome the consequences of the disaster and stabilize their life.

Thesame day, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also cabled a messageof sympathies to Lao FM Saleumxay Kmmansith.

Torrential rains brought bylow depressions in early September have causedsevere flood in southern provinces in Laos, including Attapeu, Champasack,Salavanh, Xekong, Savannakhet, and Khammouane,resulting in heavy losses for locals.-VNA
