Leaders extend greetings to Japan on Emperor’s birthday

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam CentralCommittee and President Nguyen Phu Trong sent a letter of greetings to JapaneseEmperor Akihito on the occasion of his 85th birthday (December 23).

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc cabled acongratulatory message to his counterpart Shinzo Abe.

Also on the occasion, Deputy Prime Ministerand Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh extended greetings to Japanese ForeignMinister Taro Kono.

Vietnam and Japan established diplomaticties on September 21, 1973, heralding a new era in their relations.-VNA
