Speaking at the opening session of the October 23 - November 24 session inHanoi on October 23, Ngan said the deputies will discuss and make decisions ona range of important contents.
Six draft laws will be considered and approved, while nine other draft lawswill be put on table during the sitting.
All thesedraft laws are important documents which have received attention from votersand the entire society, she said, adding that they will focus on institutionalisingregulations of the 2013 Constitution on protecting human rights and citizens’basic rights and interests, boosting economic development and administrativereform, improving the business environment, ensuring defence security, andpreventing corruption.
Lawmakerswill scrutinise the Government’s report on the implementation of thesocio-economic development plan in 2017 and the socio-economic development planfor 2018; and a report on the implementation of the State budget in 2017 andState budget estimate and allocation for 2018.
They willgive opinions on reports on the combat against crimes and law violations,anti-corruption and the settlement of citizens’ complaints and petitions in2017. They will also use three working days questioning cabinet members, sheadded.
At theopening ceremony, NA Chairwoman Ngan also expressed sympathy over human andasset losses caused by typhoon Doksuri and the recent devastating flooding andlandslides in many central and northern mountainous localities.
She calledon voters and Vietnamese people nationwide and abroad to continue helpingaffected victims in their rebuilding efforts.
Speaking ofsocio-economic achievements in the first nine months of 2017, the toplegislator said that the country is still facing a lot of difficulties andchallenges, including high state budget deficit and public debt,below-expectation equitisation of State-owned enterprises, slow investmentdisbursement and allocation, and bad impacts of climate change.
Therefore,she asked the entire Party and people to stay united and exert more efforts inthe remaining months of this year to soundly fulfill 2017’s socio-economicdevelopment targets.-VNA
