Lawmaker suspended, detained for alleged fraud over housing project

The National Assembly Standing Committee (13th tenure) on January 7 issued a resolution to suspend Chau Thi Thu Nga, a National Assembly deputy from Hanoi, for her alleged fraud over a housing project.
The National Assembly Standing Committee (13 th tenure) on January 7issued a resolution to suspend Chau Thi Thu Nga, a National Assemblydeputy from Hanoi, for her alleged fraud over a housing project.

Under Resolution No. 866/NQ-UBTVQH13, the Committee concurred with theProsecutor General’s request in Public Letter 4866/VKSTC-V1 datedDecember 31, 2014, on launching criminal proceedings against Nga overallegedly committing fraud to appropriate assets, in accordance withArticle 139 of the Criminal Code.

On the evening the same day,the police detained Nga, who is Chairwoman of the Land and HousingConstruction and Investment JSC (Housing Group), and conducted a raid ofher house in Bach Mai precinct, Hai Ba Trung district.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
