Largest statue of Buddha erected in Vinh Phuc

After years of crafting and positioning, the largest jade statue of Buddha in Vietnam was officially unveiled on Apr. 8 at the Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery in Tam Dao district in the province of Vinh Phuc.
After years of crafting and positioning, the largest jade statue ofBuddha in Vietnam was officially unveiled on Apr. 8 at the Truc LamTay Thien Zen Monastery in Tam Dao district in the province of VinhPhuc.

The 31 tonne statue is 3.45 metres high and isthe largest Buddha statue in the country to date, and underlines theVietnamese people’s soul, spirit and love for peace.

Work on a 49 metre statue of Buddha, “Peaceful nation, happy people” made of granite was also started to mark the occasion.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
