Vientiane (VNA) – A cooperation project to develop hamlet clusters in areas along the border with Vietnam during 2005-2015 produced positive results, contributing to improving locals’ living conditions and promoting stability along the two countries’ borderline.
The information was heard at a conference in Vientiane on February 19 to sum up the 10-year implementation of the project.
The project was carried out under agreements between the two countries’ leaders to build the Vietnam-Laos border into a peaceful, stable and developing area.
It was implemented in 14 districts of 10 provinces in Laos, with the main focus of building clean water and irrigational systems, medical facilities and upgrading roads.
