Lao leaders help VNA – KPL cooperation

Head ofthe Commission for Propaganda and Training of the Lao Party CentralCommittee Cheuang Sombounkhan and Lao Minister of Information, Cultureand Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala made the affirmation at a reception toVNA General Director Tran Mai Huong on August 29, during his visit toLaos from August 26 – 29.

The Lao officials spokehighly of VNA’s assistance to KPL during past years, saying that thepresentation of a book entitled, “VNA and KPL – Years of mutualdevelopment” to KPL was a deed of special significance, allowing the twoagencies’ present and future generations of reporters to furtherunderstand the loyal and wholehearted relations of the two countries forrevolutionary press.

The book was the firstpublication manifesting cooperation in publishing between the twocountries’ press sector, with VNA and KPL being pioneeringorganisations, they said.

General Director Huongexpressed his delight at witnessing great changes in Laos and ceaselessdevelopment of its revolutionary press.

He said hehoped Lao leaders would create favourable conditions for the TV channelof VNA – Vnews – to be broadcast soon on the Lao cable televisionsystem and help the two news agencies cooperate more effectively.

Huong affirmed that VNA will enhance cooperation with KPL in personneltraining and exchange of information, professional knowledge,delegations and techniques./.
