Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s regaining of independence in 1945 was of great significanceto the revolutionary causes of three Indochina countries, said a high-ranking Laodiplomat.
Ambassador Kham-InhKhitchadeth, Head of the Lao Permanent Mission to the UN, World TradeOrganisation and other international organisations in Geneva, Switzerland, madethe remarks while congratulating the Vietnamese mission on the country’s 72nd National Day (September 2).
The Lao diplomatcongratulated Vietnam on its recent achievements and expressed his belief thatunder the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese peoplewould obtain more important successes in the cause of national construction anddevelopment.
For his part, AmbassadorDuong Chi Dung, Head of the Vietnamese permanent mission to the United Nations,World Trade Organisation and other international organisations in Geneva,stressed the 72-year development path of Vietnam since 1945 has seen milestonesin its friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.
He said the closecoordination between the Vietnamese and Lao permanent missions in Geneva is alsoa demonstration of the Vietnam-Laos traditional relations and specialsolidarity.
Dung unveiledthat in mid-September, the Vietnamese mission plans to hold a ceremony tocelebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day and 40years since it became an official member of the UN.-VNA
