Priest Pham Ngoc Hai, head of theLa Vang Pilgrimage Centre, said this year’s festival attracted nearly 100,000Catholics and visitors.
The province asked relevantforces to watch over roads leading to the centre and nearby areas to ensuresecurity and order.
The La Vang Archdiocese alsopartnered with archdioceses from Dong Ha city in the central province of QuangTri to Lang Co in the central province of Thua Thien – Hue to gathere over1,500 dignitaries and parishioners to establish committees on health care,public security, food safety and hygiene, and worship, thus ensuring the bestconditions for pilgrims.
The centre also preparedmedicines and medical equipment, collaborated with Trieu Hai hospital to offerfirst aid if necessary and erected 300 canvases in its yard to shelter pilgrimsfrom sunshine and rain.-VNA
