Restorationwork has been underway for more than 20 days and two out of three tasks havebeen completed, said a representative from the Trang An Landscape ManagementBoard.
Therestored area is part of the tribal village depicted in the movie, with dozenof rattan tents being set up with decorative items.
Models ofa ship and airplane resembling those used in Kong: Skull Island willalso be exhibited at the site, where parts of the movie were filmed andtherefore named "Skull island." The "island" lies withinthe Trang An Landscape Complex.
Accordingto the Trang An Landscape Management Board, since the American studio was notcharged for filming here, the local authority was permitted to restore and turnthe site into a tourism spot a certain period of time after the film’s release.
Theisland opens to tourists on April 15, coinciding with the Trang AnFestival. The studio is part of the Trang An Landscape Complex, and entry istherefore free, according to the board.
Kong:Skull Island was shot in the central province of Quang Binh and thenorthern provinces of Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh in February 2016, and was releasedinternationally in March this year.
Its director and screenwriter, Jordan Charles Vogt-Roberts, was named Vietnam’stourism ambassador on March 14.-VNA
