Kon Tum (VNA) – The ExecutiveBoard of the Buddhist Sangha of the CentralHighlands province of Kon Tum will offer over 2,000 gifts to disadvantagedpeople on the occasion of the major Buddhist festival, Vu Lan (Ullambana).
According to the Most Venerable Thich QuangXa, Head of the Executive Board, local orphans, elderly disadvantaged people, victimsof Agent Orange/dioxin and needy Buddhist families will receive school items,rice, noodles, cooking oil and sugar. Hundreds of meal boxes will also be presentedto patients at the Kon Tum General Hospital.
Vu Lan is a festival that is celebrated annuallybetween the 10th to 15th day of the seventh lunar month, during whichpeople express their gratefulness and appreciation to their parents andancestors.-VNA
