Tokyo (VNA) – Hideo Sawada, Chairmanof H.I.S, a leading travel conglomerate in Japan, has recently confirmed thegroup will take part in a hotel and resort project in Cam Ranh city, the centralcoastal province of Khanh Hoa.
Cam Ranh, only an hour from Ho Chi Minh Cityby air, is blessed with beautiful ports and beaches, Hideo told Japan’s Nikkeinewspaper.
He said H.I.S will work with a Vietnamesegroup to develop a 1.8-billion-USD resort complex with 5-6 hotels, one or twoof which to be built by the Japanese firm.
The main investor in Vietnam will build alarge-scale theme park inside the complex similar to Huis Ten Bosch Park inNagasaki prefecture in Japan, he noted, adding that the Huis Ten Bosch attractsabout 3 million visitors and generates 89.5 million USD in revenue every year.
In many developing countries, rising incomesresult in more demand for major entertainment centres. The project will be asuccess if there are at least 10 million people living in the neighbourhood,because local residents normally account for 60 – 70 percent of visitors tosuch a park, he explained.-VNA
