The move has beenrealised by the fresh inauguration of the second phase of Terumo’splant located in Quang Minh industrial zone, Hanoi , the daily Thoi baoKinh te Vietnam [Vietnam Economic Times] reported on June 20.
The 96 million USD facility is expected to need about 1,000 Vietnameseand Japanese labourers, the newspaper cited the group’s managingdirector Oguma Akita as saying.
It focuses on manufacturing Catheter tubes for patients with heart diseases along with specialised medical equipment.
In 2012, the group also started construction of a plant based in thesouthern Dong Nai province of Vietnam, which is expected to becompleted in 2015.
In the first five months of thisyear, among the 40 countries and territories having investment inVietnam, Japan ranked first with 3.6 billion USD of bothnewly-registered and additional capital, according to the Ministry ofPlanning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency.-VNA
