Hanoi (VNA) – Representatives of Japan’s Democratic Party and the VietnamGeneral Confederation of Labour (VGCL) discussed labour issues during a workingsession on May 30, Lao dong (Labour) daily reported.
VGCL Vice President Mai Duc Chinh informed theJapanese guests about the business situation and industrial relations atJapanese enterprises in Vietnam, along with working conditions, income andaspirations of Vietnamese workers at the companies.
He also briefed them about Vietnam’s interns andstudents in Japan, the VGCL’s viewpoint on the increase of regional-basedminimum wage, and the job-seeking efforts of interns after they returned from Japan.
Representatives of the Democratic Party, led byDeputy Secretary-General Yukio Edano – a member of Japan’s House ofRepresentatives, shared information about their country’s labour laws,including on foreign interns in Japan.
The Democratic Party is the second biggest partyin Japan, after the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan. Its delegation’s workingvisit to Vietnam from May 28-31 is part of an agreement between the DemocraticParty and the Communist Party of Vietnam.-VNA
