The Japanese company Hayabusha is aiming to invest in raising beef cows in northern Ha Nam province.

Their intention of a pilot model with ten Japanese breeds was unveiled during their talks with local authorities on September 17.

If carried out successfully, the farm scale is expected to reach up to 500 cattle, Hayabusha Chairman Asao Kunio shared, adding that Japan’s beef is popular for its tender and delicious taste.

However, the meat is pricy due to high production cost in its hometown (a breed is valued at about 1 million JPY or 8,290 USD).

Ha Nam boasts favourable investment climate and policies alongside suitable conditions for animal husbandry, claimed Asao Kunio.

Provincial Party Committee Secretary Mai Tien Dung gave the green light to Hayabusha’s plan, requiring a scale of between 20 and 25 cows per hectare as well as technology transfer and training provided for locals.

Ha Nam has planned different areas for milk and beef cows across communes near the Red River and Chau Giang River.

Currently, 54 Japanese enterprises are investing in Ha Nam, including four in the agricultural sector.-VNA
