Hanoi (VNA) – A ceremony to sign a project on improving Hanoi’s capacity ofmanaging water drainage works took place in the capital city on August 9.
Signatorieswere the municipal Department of Construction, the Department of InnovationManagement and Environmental Sciences of Yokohama city, and the JapanInternational Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Thesecond-stage project will be carried out from September 2017 and August 2020 witha total cost of around 60 million JPY.
Itwill cover operation and maintenance of pilot wastewater treatment plants, mudtreatment, mitigation of losses from floods in pilot areas, and organisation ofseminars with the cooperation of member firms from the Yokohama waterenterprises’ association.
Thanks to the support of the Japanese government overthe past years, construction on a number of transport and technicalinfrastructure has been concluded in Hanoi, including Yen Xa wastewatertreatment plant and garbage collection system, a water drainage system in To Lichriver basin, among others.-VNA
