Rome (VNA) – An Italian-language book entitled “Il Banco Di SabbiaDorata. Il Vietnam e Gli arcipelaghi del Mare Orientale” (Golden sands, Vietnamand archipelagoes in the East Sea) was introduced in Rome, Italy, on September27.
The book was writtenby Sandra Scagliotti, Director of the Centre for Vietnam Studies in Turin of Italy, aiming toshow that the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes belongto Vietnam.
Published by EpicsEdizioni, it features a range of articles by prestigious Vietnamese and foreignscholars about history, geo-politics, strategy, anthropology and legality ofthe East Sea issue.
In addition, thebook contains persuasive evidence such as photos of the Nguyen Dynasty’s royalrecords and maps that affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and TruongSa archipelagoes.
The book was launchedin Turin city, northern Italy, on September 19.

Scagliotti, who is alsoHonorary Consul of Vietnam in Turin, previously taught sociology aboutdeveloping countries and contemporary Asian history at the University of Turinas an expert on Vietnamese studies. She has also lectured at universities inVietnam, France and Canada.
