Tel Aviv (VNA) – Israel attaches importance to developing itsrelations with Vietnam, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said in a reception onJanuary 3 for outgoing Vietnamese Ambassador Cao Tran Quoc Hai.
President ReuvenRivlin said he was impressed by great achievements gained by Vietnam in its Doimoi (Renewal), and national building and safeguarding.
He voiced his delightat fine development in the bilateral friendship and cooperation, whileappreciating contributions made by the Ambassador to the relations.
He showed his beliefthat bilateral cooperation will be consolidated and expanded, for the interestsof the two peoples.
Ambassador Hai thankedthe President and ministries and sectors of Israel for helping him fulfil histasks during his working tenure.
Recalling severaloutstanding achievements in bilateral ties, especially in economics, trade,investment, science, technology, education and tourism, he affirmed the twocountries hold much potential to further develop their ties in differentfields.
He took the occasionto thank Israel for supporting Vietnam’s membership of the United NationsCommission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the 2019-2025 tenure.
He stated he hopesboth sides soon conclude negotiations towards the signing of a free tradeagreement, and open a direct air route between the two countries, boostingeconomic and tourism cooperation.-VNA
