Hanoi (VNA) – An internationalscientific seminar on India – ASEAN culture – civilization connectivity opened inHanoi on October 7.
Co-hosted by theVietnam Institute of Indian and Southwest Asian Studies (VIISAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), and the ASEAN - India Centre (AIC) under the Research andInformation System for DevelopingCountries (RIS), the two-day event is being held in both onlineand offline forms to promote bilateral cultural diplomatic activities andfurther bolster their relationship.
In his openingspeech, VASS Vice President Prof. Dang Nguyen Anh described culture as a pillarin the framework of 3C (connectivity, commerce, culture) between India andthe Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in which culture - civilization connectivity has laid a foundation toshare trust and common values about religions, languages, arts and ethnicity.
Today, culture andcivilization connectivity has been evidenced more clearly by economic andpolitical integration, and strategic coordination in regional and global issuestowards common security and inclusive growth in the Indo-Pacific, he said.
Experts at the eventdiscussed different aspects of bilateral culture - civilization connectivity andState management in the field, as well as orientations and tasks for the nextperiod.
They highlighted the importance of connecting education, the youth and the networkof museums in Southeast Asia to restore India –ASEAN culture - civilizationheritages in the contemporary world.
The participants also debatedways to uphold bilateral culture - civilization connectivity, helping toconsolidate the collective power of both sides for the sake of harmonisation,development and prosperity./.
