Int’l Chemistry Olympiad opens in Hanoi

The 46th annual International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) opened in Hanoi on July 21 with 291 high school students from 77 countries and territories worldwide taking part.

Minister of Education andTraining Pham Vu Luan, in his opening speech, assured contestants thebest conditions to show off their talents.

Chairman of theIChO’s Steering Committee Peter Wothers hailed Vietnam’s achievements ofchemical studies, citing high rankings in the 1996 competition that thecountry joined for the first time.

Foreign delegates will also have a chance to tour capital attractions and Ha Long Bay.

On July 23, contestants will sit for a five-hour practice test.

Atthe 45th ICHO held in Russia from July 15-23, 2013, all four studentsof the Vietnamese team won medals - one gold and three silvers./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
