Int’l art competition for kids opens in Hanoi

Over 100 local and expatriate children aged 5 to 18 living in Hanoi participated in an international drawing competition themed “I love Hanoi- a Peaceful City” at the city’s Children’s Palace on June 14.

Co-organisedby the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO), Hanoi’s PeaceCommittee and the Children’s Palace, the event aims to encouragechildren’s creativity and bolster friendship and solidarity betweenVietnamese and international children.

Event attendees includedDeputy Ambassadors, counsellors and representatives from embassies inVietnam including Cuba, Palestine, the Philippines and Venezuela.

Addressingthe event, HUFO’s Deputy Chairwoman Dao Thanh Huong said Hanoi is theonly city in the Asia-Pacific region that has received the prestigiousUNESCO award “a city for peace”. She also stressed the importance ofcommunication with and educating the young generation to maintain peace.

Theparticipating children based their artwork on favourite subjectssuch as people and life, peace, environment, their dreams and lovefor the homeland, especially love for the peaceful city of Hanoi.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.
