Inspection teams set up targeting serious corruption cases

Eight inspection teams have been set up to inspect and supervise the investigation, prosecution and trial of serious corruption and economic cases.

Hanoi (VNA) – Eight inspection teams have been set up to inspect and supervisethe investigation, prosecution and trial of serious corruption and economiccases related to the standing boards of 20 provincial partycommittees.

Thegroups are formed under Plan 64-KH/BCDTW and Decision 65-QD/BCDTW recently signedby Party General Secretary and Head of the Central SteeringCommittee for Anti-Corruption Nguyen Phu Trong.

The supervision and inspection aim to grasp the situation and assess theleadership role played by Party committees in localities and their performance indetecting and handling corruption cases, towards identifying and dealing withsigns of ideological, ethical and lifestyle degradation, as well as“self-evolution” and “self-transformation” inside Party organisations.

During the inspection and supervision of theinvestigation, prosecution and trial of serious corruption and economic cases, particularlythose of public concern, the teams will pinpoint limitations anddifficulties of the process as well as their causes, thus devising measures toimprove the effectiveness of the work.

The Party chief required that the inspection should have clear focus in order toensure efficiency and avoid wastefulness.

The Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs was assigned to collectthe results of the inspection and supervision to report to the Central SteeringCommittee before October 30 this year.-VNA
