Earlier on November 26, the Dolphin 89 transportvessel was en route from the Philippines to Vietnam’s Hai Phong port. When theship passed through Ly Son’s waters to strengthen its equipment against theimpact of Typhoon Usagi, sailor Danish Christen Salins (born in 1986) had hisfingers seriously injured as his hand was crushed by the crane cable.
Captain Pham Tuan Anh decided to anchor the shipin a location 3 nautical miles southeast of Ly Son island to treat his crewmember’s wound.
Upon receiving the information, Ly Son borderguards and coast guards sent vehicles to bring the injured sailor to theisland’s health centre.
His physical condition has now been reported asstable. –VNA
