The Industrial Production Index (IPI) saw a year-on-year increase of6.8 percent in the first two months of 2013, according to the GeneralStatistic Office (GSO).
Of which, the index of themining industry increased 1.8 percent over the same period last year,that of the processing and manufacturing, 7.9 percent, electricityproduction and distribution, 11.7 percent, and water supply and sewagetreatment, 9.9 percent.
Meanwhile, the production ofseveral industries saw notable increases includes battery production(107.1 percent), electrical equipment (51.3 percent), machine spareparts (45.9 percent), fertiliser and nitrogen compound (43.3 percent),footwear (35.9 percent), and telecom equipments (26.4 percent).-VNA
