Jakarta (VNA) - The Indonesian police’s anti-terror squad hasarrested five militants who link with the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS)group in South Sulawesi province, said the spokesman of the provincial police.
The terrorists had plotted to launch attacks on several targets across thecountry before the squad captured them in Luwu and Bone districts of SouthSulawesi province, Dicky Sondani said.
Besides, the squad foiled their secret plans to stage several terrorist attacks, he added.
According to Dicky, the police also seized 15 kg of explosive which will beused to blow up several spots in Indonesia.
The arrested will be rushed to the national police headquarters in Jakarta forinvestigation, Dicky said
All the five are members of Mujahidin Indonesia Timur, which was affiliatedwith the global IS terrorist group, according to the police.-VNA
