Vale Indonesia, a miner fromBrazil, has recently been a Sustainable Business Award Indonesia for itsconsistent policy on environmental protection. Thanks to its effectiveenvironmental protection measures, Vale Indonesia’s output increased by 17percent to more than 90,000 tonnes in 2017.
Similar things have been done indifferent industries by companies such as the world’s largest palm oil holdingGolden Agri Resources, Indonesia’s largest cement manufacturer Semen Indonesia,and the local arm of global food packaging company Tetra Pak.
Earlier this year, the Indonesian Ministry ofAgriculture allowed the Golden Agri Resources to increase production to 10.8tonnes of crude palm oil per hectare from 7.5 tonnes, without the need toexpand its plantations.-VNA
