Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia will focus on investing in Malaysia and Singapore as well as attracting investors from the two countries, according to the Indonesian Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
The BKPM is also formulating a strategy to encourage the country’s outward investment to other ASEAN member countries, in which Cambodia , Vietnam , Laos , and Myanmar , have been chosen as the focus for study, Indonesian’s Antara News quoted Head of BKPM Franky Sibarani on February 26.
According to BKPM’s data, ASEAN investment realised in Indonesia increased by 15 percent to 9.1 billion USD in 2015, up from 7.93 billion USD in 2014.
In terms of investment commitment, the ASEAN member countries contribution reflected a 79 percent increase to 22 billion USD from 12.3 billion USD in the previous year.
In terms of competition to attract investment, the competitors of Indonesia were determined as Thailand , Vietnam , and Myanmar.-VNA
