Director for Asia-Pacific Tourism Promotion of the TourismMinistry of Indonesia Vinsensius Jemadu said that the number of Japanesetourists to Indonesia recorded a decrease of 0.2 percent last year.
He attributed the decline to the lack of direct flights fromJapan to Indonesia, especially when the Japan Airlines stopped operatingflights to Bali.
Statistics showed that 80 percent of the Japanese touristsvisited Bali. Therefore, Vinsensius Jemadu said he is scheduled to visit Tokyo,Japan, to convince Japanese airlines to operate flights to Bali again.
He also expected that more regular flights will be launched between Japan and Indonesiato facilitate Japanese people keen on visiting the country.
Meanwhile, to increase the number of Japanese tourists, thetourism ministry continues to promote the country’s other tourist destinationsin Japan, including through the digital media.
