Jakarta (VNA) – A tsunami warning issued after a strong 6.8 magnitudeearthquake rocked off Indonesia’s Sulawesi province on April 12 was lifted.
According to Indonesia'sMeteorological, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), sharp shakings can befelt from Gorontalo to Manado, Kolaka and Konawe.
The quake struck at18:40 (local time) with an epicentre 10 kilometres under the seabed, the agencysaid.
Right after the quake, the BMKG issued an early tsunami warning.
No casualties or damages have been reported yet.
Last September, a7.5-magnitude quake and a subsequent tsunami in Palu on Sulawesi island killedmore than 2,200 with a thousand more declared missing.-VNA
