Jakarta (VNA) – Dozens of people were injured when a mezzanine floorof the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta collapsed on January 15, Indonesianpolice said.
Images aired on television and circulated on social mediashowed a concrete and metal structure that had collapsed around a Starbuckscafe near the entrance to the lobby of the building.
All victims were taken to local hospital, and investigationsare underway, police said.
Director of the stock exchange Alpino Kianjaya declined tocomment on the incident.
The high-rise building, constructed in the late 1990s, ispart of a two-tower complex also housing offices of the World Bank and theInternational Finance Corporation. It was the target of a car bombing byIslamist militants in September 2000.-VNA
