Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian anti-terror police shotdead two alleged militants in an exchange of fire on May 15 in North Sumatraprovince, local media reported.
The shootings took place when the police squad attempted toarrest the two persons in Tengku Mansyur General Hospital in Tanjung Balaitown.
The event followed a series of terrorist attacks in Surabayacity, the provincial capital of East Java on May 13 and 14, that killed 28people and injured dozens others.
These attacks occurred amid tightened security in thecountry ahead of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.-VNA
