According to the minister, the creative economic sector hascontributed 1.1 quadrillion rupiah (75.9 billion USD) to the country’s GDP,with 17 creative economic sub-sectors, which are dominated by fashion, culinary,and crafts.
Of the total, 175 trillion rupiah was contributed by thefashion sub-sector.
Indonesia is the third country with the most consumers ofMuslim clothing after Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, Nanida Jenahara Nasution, one of the Muslimfashion designers, said that Muslim fashion products in the country have verygood quality for the global market. However, these products need to be supportedto be accepted and get a place in the hearts of local people.
Then, collaboration of all stakeholders is also necessary tomake Muslim products get a wider market, the designer added./.
