Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia is among the top five countries that havesuccessfully mitigated the COVID-19 pandemic and optimally boosted the nationaleconomic recovery, the country’s Coordinating Minister for Economy AirlanggaHartarto said on October 12.
At the press conference at the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB)Office, he stated the rate of COVID-19 patients is much lower than the previoustime, while the recovery rate as of October 11 was 76.48 percent as compared tothe global averaged rate of 75 percent.
Although the fatality rate was still higher than the global average, thepandemic response in eight cities classified as red zones showed a positivetrend.
At present, the government is focusing on micro-management in several cities,including South Jakarta, East Jakarta, Pekanbaru, Depok, Bekasi and Ambon, aswell as continued to provide aids for the public and the business sector.
According to Airlangga, the Indonesian economy will grow between minus 1percent to 0.6 percent in 2020./.
