Hanoi (VNA) - TheIndonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI) has announced theapplication of anti-dumping measures on colour-coated steel sheet importsfrom Vietnam and China.
This was revealed bythe Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry andTrade.
KADI determined that steelsheet imports from Vietnam dumped into the country at between 12.01 percent and28.49 percent of the Indonesian market and caused significant injury to thedomestic steel industry.
Based on this conclusion, theIndonesian Trade Security Committee (KPPI) proposed the application ofanti-dumping measures on Vietnamese colour-coated steel products for afive-year period.
KADI initiated the dumpinginvestigation on December 23, 2016.The colour-coated steel imports that wereinvestigated had the HS codes of 7210.70.10.00, 7212.40.10.00 and7212.40.20.00.
KADI said that from July 2015to June 2016, Indonesia imported 224,120 tonnes of colour-coated steel, ofwhich 196,191 tonnes came from Vietnam and China, accounting for 87.5 percentof the country’s total steel imports.
On January 9, 2018, KADIannounced a statement of essential facts on the anti-dumping investigation andasked relevant sides to give comments on the statement.
