The objective of the Act is to criminalise nuclearterrorist attacks, promote cooperation for prevention and investigation,and protect against attacks on a range of targets, including nuclearpower plants and reactors.
Antara News reportsthat the Indonesian agreement was reached at a hearing between ForeignMinister Marty Natalegawa and members of the House of Representatives’Commission overseeing security and information in Jakarta on February19.
The commission members said the draft ratification will beincluded into the agenda of the House’s plenary session, which isscheduled to be held on February 25.
The convention, proposed byRussia and first adopted on April 13, 2005 by the United Nations, hasbeen passed by 115 organisations and 91 countries.-VNA
