New Delhi (VNA) – India’s Eastern Fleet ships INS Shakti and INSKamorta anchored at Indonesia’s Makassar port on June 23 for a three-day visit that aims to strengthen cooperation between the naval forces of the twocountries.
Rear Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, NM, FlagOfficer Commanding Eastern Fleet, who is leading the fleet ships, said that thevisit was part of India’s strategy for operational reach and pursuit of India’s‘Act East’ policy.
The ships are on the last leg of theirtwo month operational deployment to Southeast Asia and Western Pacific Ocean.
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister NarendraModi paid a visit to Indonesia, during which the two countries elevated theirties to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.-VNA
