India ready to cooperate with Vietnam in medical sectors

New Delhi (VNA) – Lieut. Gen. Bipin Puri, Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Serviceof India, has expressed the willingness to cooperate with the Vietnam MilitaryMedical University (VMMU) in medical sectors in which India has experience andstrength.

Puri made the statementduring his talks with VMMU Director Lieut. Gen. Do Quyet, who paid a working visitto India from January 14-17.

He said the Vietnamesedelegation’s visit will contribute to consolidating defence ties betweenVietnam and India, and opened up opportunities for cooperation in militarymedicine between the two countries. 

While in India, Quyetand his entourage visited some local hospitals and universities, during whichthe two sides agreed to propose the Vietnamese and Indian Governments carry outcooperation in training and scientific research on military, aviation and navalmedicine.

They suggested sending officialsand doctors from the VMMU to India for training courses and experience exchange.-VNA
