HCM City  (VNA) - InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will be in charge of managing the first hotel with brand Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport in HCM City.

This followed the agreement it inked recently with the hotel's investor, Thuy Duong-Duc Binh Trading Joint Stock Company, in the city.

As part of the Republic Plaza Complex, which is located next to the Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport is a luxury hotel with 350 rooms, including 100 suites room. It is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2018.

The hotel project also receives the support and cooperation from Vietjet, the fastest growing airline in Asia and is a major factor that has created an excitement for real estate projects around the airport in the recent past.

"With the position as the economic centre and the gateway to the industrial areas and manufacturing centres, HCM City, in recent years, has witnessed an increase in foreign investment," Leanne Harwood, Vice President in charge of Southeast Asia and the Republic of Korea of IHG said.

"Also, the number of visitors has increased, and this is a great opportunity for us to introduce Holiday Inn into this market," he said.

Antoine Sirot from Thuy Duong-Duc Binh Company said he believes that the collaboration will help both, the Republic Plaza complex and Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Airport, become a perfect destination for tourists, businessmen, employees in the airport sector, as well as clients who demand luxury housing overall with integrated utility services and professional management of international standards.-VNA
