Hung Yen appreciates RoK investments: provincial leader

Hung Yen values and calls for enterprises from the Republic of Korea (RoK) to invest in areas where they have strengths and the northern province has outstanding competitive advantages. Processing and manufacturing, clean and renewable energy, infrastructure, modern agriculture, logistics, finance and banking are all great areas for investment, said a provincial leader.

Hanoi (VNA) - Hung Yen values and calls for enterprises from the Republic of Korea (RoK) to invest in areas where they have strengths and the northern province has outstanding competitive advantages. Processing and manufacturing, clean and renewable energy, infrastructure, modern agriculture, logistics, finance and banking are all great areas for investment, said a provincial leader.

The statement was made by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Nghia on June 12 while hosting RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Youngsam.

Nghia affirmed that over the past years, Hung Yen has received cooperation and support from Korean partners. Currently, the province is home to 157 Korean-invested projects worth over 1.1 billion USD, mainly in electronics, mechanics, and garment and textiles.

Put into operation, those projects have contributed to promoting the province’s socioeconomic development, Nghia emphasised.

The official expressed his hope for continued support from the Korean Embassy in investment, trade and tourism promotion, and in strengthening cooperation between Hung Yen and Daejeon. The Korean city has been twinned with the Vietnamese province to reinforce trade and cooperation.

Ambassador Choi thanked the province for caring for and assisting Korean businesses operating in the locality. He expressed his hope that Hung Yen continues wll create favourable conditions for their operation./.
