Hanoi (VNA) –
The cooperationpotential between Hanoi and Canadian cities in trade, tourism, education andculture has yet to be fully tapped, said Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee Nguyen Duc Chung.

He made the statement at a reception foroutgoing Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Ping Kitnikone in the capital city onAugust 2.

Chung congratulated Kitnikone on completing herworking tenure in Vietnam and recognised positive outcomes in the connection ofhigh-level delegations between Hanoi and Canadian cities.

He hoped the diplomat in any position wouldcontinue working to develop Canada’s relations with Vietnam and Hanoi inparticular.

Kitnikone affirmed that she will do her utmostto enhance bilateral ties.

She noted that the Embassy of Canada hadimplemented the campaign to prevent plastic waste and received enthusiasticcoordination from the capital city.

The ambassador said her successor will continuestrengthening relations between Vietnam and Canada and working with Hanoi tocelebrate the 45th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and boostcooperation in fields of common interest.-VNA
