Hoan Kiem turtle free from fungal diseases

Hoan Kiem Lake’s giant turtle is now free of fungal diseases.
The wounds of Hoan Kiem Lake’s giant turtle have been healed after amonth of treatment and it is now free of fungal diseases, affirmed anofficial of the Hanoi Science and Technology Department.

At ameeting held in Hanoi on May 5 to consider the treatment results for theturtle, Director of the department Le Xuan Rao said medicalexaminations for the legendary turtle, thought to be one of the mostendangered species of turtles in the world, are conducted once a week.

DeputyChairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Khoi asked relevantdepartments and branches to propose the best solution to attach amonitoring equipment on the turtle for its future periodic medicalexaminations.

He also assigned the department to analyse thequality of the lake’s water and mud at dredged areas to find out thebest solutions to clean up the remaining areas of the lake so the turtlecan be soon released back into the lake./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.
