Hoa Hao Buddhism founder’s birthday marked

The 91 st birth anniversary of the founder of Hoa Hao Buddhism, Prophet Huynh Phu So, took place at the Holy Land of the religion in An Hoa temple in Phu Tan district, the southern province of An Giang on Dec. 30.

The event was attended by thousands of Hoa Hao Buddhists in and outsideAn Giang province, who in 2010 contributed 50 billion VND to buildingand repairing houses for the poor and bridges to expand traffic toremote rural areas.

Addressing the ceremony, Tran Thanh Toc, VicePresident of the An Giang provincial Fatherland Front, expressed hiswishes that more than 2 million Hoa Hao Buddhists in 15 cities andprovinces will join hands with the nation in making the country moreprosperous while defending the purity of their religion./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
