Hanoi (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoiis scheduled to be reopened for the public on December 6 after three months ofrepair.
The regular restoration, from September 5 toDecember 5, was made in line with procedure, Major General Nguyen Van Cuong,head of the mausoleum’s management board, reported to Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc on December 5.
The body of President Ho Chi Minh has been keptat the best condition while operations of the equipment system at the mausoleumhave been ensured.
During the restoration, the management boardensured the security and order at the areas of the mausoleum, Ba Dinh Squareand the nearby monument to heroic martyrs. It also worked well with otherforces to serve delegations of National Assembly deputies during theparliament’s second session and foreign leaders visiting the mausoleum, Cuongsaid.
PM Phuc highlighted the special importance of theHo Chi Minh Mausoleum and the protection of the late leader’s body.
He asked the management board to coordinate withrelevant agencies to ensure the absolute safety for the mausoleum, be readyunder all circumstances, and serve visitors at its best.
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is an importantlandmark of the capital city and stands integrated to the political and socialhistory of Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh was embalmed after passing away onSeptember 2, 1969.
The granite mausoleum, modelled after Lenin'stomb in Moscow, was built in from 1973 to 1975 with materials donated by peoplefrom all over the country. It was opened to the public on August 29, 1975.-VNA
