HCM City (VNA) – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Ho Chi Minh City fell 0.03 percent in January, compared with the previous month.
According to the municipal statistics department, transport costs experienced the highest drop, 3.36 percent, due to falling oil and petrol prices.
The prices of telecom and health services dropped 0.13 percent and 0.01 percent, respectively.
There was no change in education, entertainment and eatery costs.
The figures for the rest of the commodities and services, including housing, electricity-water supply and construction materials, rose between 0.07 and 1.02 percent.
Despite the decline against December, January’s CPI recorded an annual increase of 0.26 percent.-VNA
