Ho Chi Minh City: 71 people arrested for gambling

Ho Chi Minh City police recently uncovered a large-scale gambling den, arresting 71 people caught red-handed betting on games and cock fights.

At the site in Binh Thanh district’sPhan Van Tri street, police also seized 130 million VND (5,980 USD) and4,000 USD in cash, four security cameras and 77 motorbikes.

The ringleader, Nguyen Hoang Kiet, declared that he had been runningthe place for over a year. To avoid police detection, he used foursecurity cameras and security forces to guard the den.

Along with gambling games and cock fights, Kiet provided food and loans for gamblers.

The case is still under investigation.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.
