Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has instructed the Ministry ofEducation and Training to hold the high school graduation examinationin all provinces and cities as previously scheduled, including in DaNang where new COVID-19 cases have appeared.
Provincial andcity authorities as well as health officials must ensure safetyfor test candidates, the Prime Minister said at a meeting of permanentgovernment members on COVID-19 prevention and control on July 27.
Asscheduled, the examination will be organised from August 8-10 nationwide. Thedate is two months later than in previous years because of the COVID-19pandemic. The content in the tests will be based on what 12th graders havestudied.
Candidateswill take compulsory tests in math, literature and foreignlanguages and will have the option of choosing testsin natural sciences or social sciences.
Theministry said that it would guide relevant agencies in provinces and cities toclassify candidates based on the risk levels of transmissionand arrange suitable venues and classrooms.
Itwill require local authorities to help school managers and teachersupdate the health conditions of 12th graders and decide who can sitthe exam. Local authorities will report to steering committees forthe examination in provinces and cities.
Preventivemeasures against COVID-19 should be carried out in venues and areas where thetests will be printed and where teachers will mark the candidates’ tests.
Most provincesand cities have prepared classrooms and teachers for the exam to be organisedsafely.
Unlikein previous years, provinces and cities have been granted autonomyin organising the exam. The ministry will not assign teachers of universitiesto watch the exam-taking as it did in previous years./.
